Captain Rex PhippsApalachicola Salt Water Fishing Guide
Hello! I am Captain Rex Phipps. I am a native of Florida and have been a resident of Apalachicola for the past 25 years. I acquired my love for fishing from my stepfather.  At the age of thirteen I fished on a commercial fishing boat, that my stepfather captained, and have loved the water and sport of fishing every since. I, myself, started commercial fishing the waters of the Apalachicola River, Apalachicola Bay, the waters surrounding St. George Island, and Indian Pass my junior year of high school. Immediately following graduation I chose to continue working full time in the commercial fishing industry. These valuable years of experience have given me the instincts to find where the fishing is hot!

After starting my family, I applied for my USCG license, and for the past sixteen years have been professionally guiding the waters surrounding Apalachicola, Eastpoint, St. George Island and Indian Pass. My wife and I now make our home in Eastpoint, Florida with our two children, Kimberly and Joshua, where we enjoy the peace, tranquility and the most beautiful sugar white beaches found along the Florida coast. The fresh water of the pristine Apalachicola River and it's tributaries flow into the saltwater of the Apalachicola Bay which creates a fertile habitat that produces a spawning ground for bait and a large variety of fish. The species you can expect to find in these area waters are: speckled trout, redfish, tripletail (sunfish), pompano, tarpon and flounder, just to name a few, which makes this an ideal area for salt water sport fishing!

Whether your interest is in a charter, or a Florida beach/fishing family vacation, let my wife and I assist you in making your plans to our wonderful coastal community. You'll enjoy, not only the water and beaches, but our area boasts the freshest seafood (including oysters, shrimp, fish, crabs and scallops) available anywhere!

Calm waters and tight lines to ya,
Capt. Rex Phipps
